Tania ZIMEN

Manager

Over the last few years, I have been a German and horse-riding teacher, trainer, consultant and professional translator in fields as varied as foreign languages, office applications and specific business applications (ERP, DMS, front and back office applications, etc.). Through assignments for clients such as Arcelor, PSA, Sanofi-Aventis, SAGE-Cogestib, Galeries Lafayette, Yu Sports, La Société Hippique Percheronne and Bergquell Brauerei Löbau, I have acquired a versatility that enables me to position myself on assignments combining consulting, the creation of training modules and associated training materials, change management and deployment assistance. With a multi-national culture, I see myself above all as European. In 2014, I returned to foreign languages, my original core competence, and now teach German in secondary schools.

I lived and worked for 10 years in Orthez, in the south-west of France, between Pau and Bayonne. In 2006, this town was awarded a quality label as a "centre of attraction and development for rural image and written excellence".

In 2011, I joined the "Pôle I.Étech", which is a business centre supporting companies working in the field of image and writing.

In 2012, I leave south-west Béarn with my family and move to the more northerly "Pays de la Loire" region, near Le Mans. Skriva sets up its new headquarters at the "Pôle Européen du Cheval / Boulerie Jump", an international horse show facility. From then on, Skriva training and translation agency offers a wide range of services in the field of horses and equestrian sports to its various stakeholders such as: recreational and professional riders, service companies for horse breeders and equestrians, horse associations. Saddleries and equestrian shops etc.... This gives me the opportunity to combine my work with my passion for horses.

In 2013, I am taking a break from Skriva's activities for a while to give my career a new direction in equestrian sport. From September onwards, she completes the "CQP ASA Équitation" vocationnal training, the French official Level 1 Horse Riding Instruction Degree. In the meantime, Skriva closes his office at the "Pôle Européen du Cheval / Boulerie Jump". I obtain the "CQP ASA Équitation" in June 2014.

2014: Skriva's services are restarted in September, such as foreign language teaching and training and translation services.

I also start teaching German in secondary schools and higher education colleges in Le Mans.

2017-2018: I take on an additional assignment as an hippology teacher and riding instructor for high school students at an agricultural high school in Le Mans.

2018: I plan to complete the Assistant Ride Leader (Accompagnateur de Tourisme Équestre in France, ATE for short, the French official qualification as equestrian tourism guide)  and immediately started preparing for the ATE entrance tests.  Unfortunately, I was quickly forced to postpone this project due to health problems and the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, I continued to work full-time as a German teacher at secondary and high schools in Le Mans.

2019-2020: I passed the CAER d'Allemand, the French teaching degree in German for private secondary schools, and completed my traineeship.

As of 2020: I continue to offer training and translation services in foreign languages with my agency Skriva. I establish a long-term partnership with an Italian client who represents the Italian brand Veredus, which develops, tests and produces protections for sport horses. He assignes me the French translation  of all Veredus blog articles, and in summer 2021 I even took over the complete translation of the Veredus website into English and French. My specialty in equine and equestrian language becomes more and more clear in my writing and translation services.

2022: After two foot surgeries, I can finally get back to work on my project to become an equestrian tourism guide, so I continue my preparations for the ATE entrance test.

2023: I complete a 12-months training in equine mediation with eQuintessence, under the guidance of Dr Sylvain Gillier, doctor and trainer in equine mediation, as well as Eponaquest and IFS (Internal Family System) instructor. It was a year full of experiences and encounters with the wonderful "Herdwomen" of the "Herd 2023", a collective of 5 women who lived this adventure of horse mediation together. We learnt so much about and from the horses and about ourselves. We practised with horses for over 100 hours. We've grown together over the past year and will continue to work together to offer courses and workshops to enable people to reconnect with themselves and nature with the help of horses.

2023-2024: I pass the Assistant Ride Leader / ATE entrance tests and start the ATE continuing vocational block-release training in the Sarthe region next to home,  with Aurel'Horse as my training centre and the Cowboy Legend Ranch as my tutor equestrian centre. I spent a very challenging year in full-time training, filled with loads of questioning, learning, joy and sometimes doubt. But how proud I was when I finally completed my certification as an ATE / Assistant Ride Leader on my first attempt in May 2024!

My ultimate goal is to offer courses and workshops in horse mediation: these are workshops on reconnecting with oneself, with nature, with others, with the help of horses, in the form of groundwork and/or rides.  I also plan to combine language learning with horse riding. I want to help young people (and even the no-so-young ones!) to learn foreign languages through their love for horses and riding sports in general.

Hence Skriva's motto: "One learns better when enjoying it!"
