​About me

​

Languages have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, long before they became my profession.

​

I grew up in a deeply European family, with French, Italian, German and Swedish roots, surrounded by different languages and cultures from an early age. I spent the first six years of my life in Berlin, and German is as deeply rooted in me as French: I speak it without a foreign accent and regard it as my second native language. I also have a near-native command of English, at CEFR level C2, and I am currently learning Swedish, the language of my other country and one to which I feel a strong personal and cultural connection.

 

This multicultural background naturally shaped the direction of my professional life.

 

I graduated from ISIT in Paris with a trilingual degree in translation and interpreting, working between French, German and English. I began my career in international business environments before developing my own professional activities around languages and communication.

 

In 2015, I created Skriva, with the aim of using language to make communication clear, accurate and genuinely suited to its context.

 

Today, I am a trained translator and interpreter, a certified German teacher, a language trainer and a professional writer.

For many years, I have worked with adults, companies and learners at different levels, helping them develop their language skills through professional training and German teaching, from beginner to advanced level. I have also worked as a language trainer for international companies alongside my freelance activity.

 

Translation and writing are another major thread running through my career. Translating a text is never simply about replacing words in one language with words in another. It means understanding its purpose, its context, its audience and its cultural references. I bring the same level of care to writing, proofreading and, more broadly, to any project in which linguistic quality matters.

 

I am also an author and have published two books, "Marine et Marinette - Cent jours" and "April ou l’heure enchantée". Writing has therefore long been an integral part of both my professional and personal journey. It has sharpened my sensitivity to word choice, rhythm, voice and to the way a message is actually received by the person reading it.

Today, through Skriva, I can contribute to a range of projects involving:

• language training and coaching;

• translation and localisation;

• interpreting and language support where appropriate;

• proofreading and editing;

• professional writing and content adaptation;

• linguistic QA and multilingual content review;

• international projects involving several languages;

• language-related AI projects where my linguistic, cultural and writing expertise can bring genuine value.

 

Beyond languages and writing, another world has played an equally important part in shaping who I am: horses.

​

After completing several professional qualifications in the equestrian field, I qualified as a Ride Leader, the UK equivalent of the French Accompagnateur de Tourisme Équestre (ATE), and trained in equine mediation. I have since developed En chemin avec Tania, bringing together personal guidance with horses, equine mediation, nature-based experiences and equestrian tourism.

These two worlds are not as far apart as they may first appear. They come together in a field that is particularly close to me: languages and the equestrian world. My professional expertise in languages is combined here with genuine hands-on knowledge of horses, riding and the specialist language used in the field.

​

Whether I am teaching a language, translating, writing or working with multilingual content, I ultimately come back to the same principle: understanding precisely what needs to be communicated, to whom, in what context, and finding the right words to do it.
